Cost FREE to run! Simply gather deadwood, twigs, dry grass, pine cones or whatever natural fuel you find lying around in the area to boil water within minutes while at the same time (and using the same fuel) cooking small amounts of food over the chimney (using the pot on the support) as the kettle boils. Hence, a very small amount of fuel will both boil your water for hot drinks, washing up, personal hygiene, etc. and cook your meal at the same time! This kit works in ALL weather conditions.

No Fuel to Carry - No Fuel to Buy!   The kettle will easily boil water for 10-12 people within a matter of minutes - simply refill, refuel & reboil.

Please note: When filled with water, the Kelly Kettle should always be carried upright to avoid any spillage/leakage from the water spout or chimney top.

NOTE: Older Kettles may have an Orange Rubber or Cork Stopper. These MUST ALWAYS be removed before using the kettle. The Kettle must never be boiled with these older stoppers in the spout.

Almost perfect.
I've been using mine for about a month in the back yard before I took it out in the sticks for the first time. I've made several gallons of coffee, dehydrated meals, boiled frozen chicken, and just sat there and enjoyed a small fire. Everything works as it should, and everything in the kit is actually useful.
I have a gaggle of stoves from the entire price range; this is not 100% practical, (heavy) but by far the most enjoyable. I was REALLY surprised at just how little fuel you need to cook and boil. Also I love the comfort and ambiance of the small fire.
My favorite thing about the Kelly Kettle is ZERO cost of ownership and no waste at all. I came to the realization that gas stoves will cost you money for as long as you own them. Now, I never have to buy fuel again and I'm not putting a mountain of empty canisters in the local landfill. That is at least three different kinds of bad for the environment. I feel better about spending my time in the great outdoors.
Here is my one dislike. The carrying bag is beyond flimsy. It didn't survive it's first trip out of the yard. I loaded up my gear drove an hour out, an hour back and, by the time I got home there were seventeen holes in the bag. If you can't carry the kit... It's not very useful, is it?
I wish they would have made it out of a good, thick, canvas. Or at least offer a canvas bag separately. Maybe I can make a new bag out of an old pants leg or something.
Also I would suggest getting a pocket bellows. If Kelly Kettle sold them in the store I would have bought one for sure. And you should definitely get the orange bung (yes I said bung) for canteen usage.
Bottom line... I would 100% recommend this kit. Just have to find a good bag. Maybe one with a shoulder strap.

Best investment ever!
I have had this system for just short of two years. I got it as a belated birthday present. I have been using it seriously for the last 18 months. And the more I use it and learn about it the more I like it. I now take it about 99% of the time if there will be a meal involved. Only if I am taking my smallest pack do I not take it. It is the best and most well thought out system that I have ever used. I can get a good cup of tea and full meal together in about half the time of any other camp fire or stove I have ever used. And that includes gas stoves. It is worth the space it takes to carry it. Review by Troy (Posted on 1/6/2019)
Could not be happier!!!
I have had my Scout for about a year and a half now. But have only been using it for around 12 months of that time as I was recovering from shoulder surgery when it was given to me as a gift. But once I got back in the field I started using it and seen what it could do. I can say that it is a piece of kit that is always considered when going out on a hike and especially an over night. And if I am going to be out for two nights or more, then it is going no question about it. I have the stainless model with all the accessories. And I can say that it is one well thought out kit. I have added a small non-stick fry pan, but nothing else. Because everything else you need is there when you get one of the ultimate kits like I did. Keep up the good work. Review by T. I'm impressed!
I'm impressed. About a decade ago I read about this design on an outdoors interest web site. It sounded like a good idea with a long history. However, it wasn't available locally. I found one at an outdoors outfitter store today, on clearance sale, so used a gift card to purchase this low risk gadget.

When I got home I took the Kelly Kettle out to my outdoor cooking area to test it. (I'm writing this in December and the yard is full of snow with 20 degree F temp. = -6.667 C) I swiped some coconut fiber from one of the wife's pots and snapped some dry twigs from the bottom of the blue spruce. With this, I kindled a small fire and put on a kettle of water. In no time there was a vortex of flame in the unit. I dropped in a chunk of natural lump charcoal from my smoker. As expected, the swirling twig flames produced a faster burn, but the charcoal readily lit and proved the potential for a cook fire after boiling water, which happened quickly.

So, what to do with this "gadget" when not camping? It will find a place to live in my pick-up truck along with my fly fishing gear and a stash of tea. I believe in roughing it smoothly, with minimal impact, and little trace that I've been around. The Kelly Kettle fits that ideal.

I couldn't be happier with my Kelly Kettle and will be bringing it on future expeditions.
On my last expedition a friend and I paddled a canoe 600 miles down the Srepok and Mekong rivers through Cambodia and Vietnam. Along the way we stopped in several villages to teach CPR and abdominal thrusts for choking emergencies.
We needed a stove which could boil lots of water efficiently without burning up several bottles of hard to find liquid fuel over the weeks we paddled down the river. Kelly Kettle offered the perfect solution, an efficient burning wood stove which is excellent at boiling quantities of water as well as for cooking on. We even used our Medium Stainless Kettle with a Power Pot to keep an iPad and speaker charged for teaching classes and since the Kelly Kettle burns wood, we essentially had an unlimited supply of electricity.
We burned lots of fuel types like bamboo, leaves, bushes, drift wood, bark, and more. We almost always had a good fuel source to burn but for the few cases when we camped on a sandy island with no wood, we used an alcohol burner as a backup which works well to boil water in the kettle or cook on using only the fire base.
I couldn't be happier with my Kelly Kettle and will be bringing it on future expeditions.

Serious must have!
After using my Kelly Kettle it was love at first boil, the stainless steel scout model has not let me down in fishing trips, camping, car trips to the beach etc.
The design is so simple and yet so effective - if it can burn you have fuel for a brew!
it really is that simple!
So many times I used to faff around with gas refills that hated cold weather (and wind!) the Kelly Kettle laughs in the face of a windy day and boils even faster!!! all I ever need with me is a bit of dry tinder - which compared to gas bottles is an absolute space and weight saver!
Using it at the beach was a doddle for a picnic - dry driftwood, seagrass, buckthorn and seaweed all burnt perfectly, Just the right size for 2 people to have a brew and some pasta. This cooking system is perfect!

excellent product with ingenious system
I am very fond of my Kettle. Sturdy quality, years and years of service and except that sometimes its harder to find dry twigs then others I haven,t found a single issue I would wanna improve (except maybe a bit sturdier bag).
The Scout for me is excactly the right size for 2 people. For single trips i will get me a Trekker model in Alu as well.

Possibly the best outdoor related thing I have ever owned!
I just wanted to say a big thanks for possibly the best outdoor related thing I have ever owned. Had my scout kettle for just over a year, and now it is not an 'occasional' use item for camping, it has replaced my petrol and gas stoves. (Especially after adding the hobo stove). Not only is it incredibly practical and insanely fast, it is also good fun to use, and when used in a basecamp style way, collecting suitable fuel for the the duration gives you something to do if you get a bit bored.
I have probably now convinced at least 5 people to get one.

Top product, quality, fast delivery.
The Kelly Kettle tested against one water boiler and the water boiler spent about 30 seconds shorter cooking the same amount of water.
Very pleased with my Kelly Kettle, highly recommended.
